Describing Sunday’s rally as a “Bharshtachar Bachao, Parivar Bachao” congregation, Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP President, asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to draw crowds. Criticizing the ‘INDIA Bloc’ rally at Ramlila Maidan as a “flop show,” Delhi BJP accused opposition leaders of merely safeguarding their political clans and those embroiled in corruption allegations.
Sachdeva reiterated the sentiment, labeling the gathering as a “Bharshtachar Bachao, Parivar Bachao” event, underscoring AAP’s inability to muster support.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav, lambasted the BJP at the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally, alleging the party’s attempts to undermine India’s democratic traditions.
“The rally saw the participation of families associated with Congress, infamous for plundering the nation, as well as the kin of Lalu Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Shibu Soren, all facing corruption allegations. Additionally, the family of Arvind Kejriwal, currently in ED custody over corruption charges, was also in attendance,” Sachdeva remarked.
He further contended that both the Congress and AAP failed to mobilize their party workers, let alone the citizens of Delhi, to join the rally. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari highlighted that the INDIA bloc consisted of the very leaders whom Kejriwal had once labeled as corrupt, now rallying against his arrest. “I believe the same Ramlila Maidan, where AAP and Arvind Kejriwal emerged onto the political landscape, will now witness their downfall,” Tiwari asserted.
In a parallel development, numerous present and former councillors and office bearers from Jalandhar associated with Congress, SAD, and AAP joined the Delhi unit of the BJP. Punjab BJP unit chief Sunil Jakhar and National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa extended a warm welcome to the new entrants. Notably, Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku, who recently parted ways with AAP to join BJP, was also present on the occasion.
