Bengaluru’s Rameswaram Cafe Blast: NIA Captures Two Key Suspects – Alleged Mastermind and IED Placer
In a momentous development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two individuals, including the alleged “mastermind,” in connection with the Rameswaram Cafe blast case in Bengaluru, near Kolkata in West Bengal. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, accused of placing the IED at the café, and Abdul Matheen Taha, identified as the mastermind responsible for planning and executing the blast, as per a statement issued by the NIA.
In the early hours of April 12, 2024, the NIA successfully tracked down the absconding accused near Kolkata, where they had been concealing their identities. The NIA’s pursuit was made possible through coordinated efforts and cooperation between the NIA, Central Intelligence agencies, and the police forces of West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala, the statement elaborated.
“Mussavir Hussain Shazib is the individual who placed the IED at the café, while Abdul Matheen Taha is the mastermind responsible for planning, executing the blast, and subsequently evading law enforcement,” the statement further clarified.
