New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made an appearance before a court in the national capital on Saturday in connection with the Enforcement Directorate summonses case. Subsequently, the Rouse Avenue Court granted him bail. This marked Kejriwal’s first physical presence in court concerning the case, having previously attended hearings via video conferencing. The Enforcement Directorate has lodged two complaints against Kejriwal for allegedly disregarding their summonses related to the Delhi excise policy investigation.

The Delhi administration ramped up security measures outside the court premises in anticipation of Kejriwal’s arrival.

On the preceding day, the court had reserved its decision on the plea seeking a stay on the summonses issued by the agency to Kejriwal.

The Enforcement Directorate seeks to elicit Arvind Kejriwal’s statement regarding various aspects of policy formulation, pre-policy meetings, and allegations of corruption.

Nevertheless, Kejriwal has consistently abstained from complying with the summonses, asserting their illegality and alleging political vendetta.
