INDIA Bloc Mega Rally Live: The ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally is underway at Delhi’s historic Ramlila Maidan, albeit under certain conditions. Leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc have gathered at this iconic venue for their ‘Loktantra Bachao’ (save democracy) rally on Sunday. While the AAP, a member of the alliance, stated that the rally aims to protest the arrest of AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by the ED in the excise policy case, the Congress, the largest constituent, clarified that the protest is not ‘person-specific.’ Instead, it aims to voice opposition against what they perceive as the ‘dictatorship’ of the BJP-led central government.

The Delhi Police have granted permission for the rally, albeit with certain stipulations. Although the venue has the capacity to accommodate over one lakh people, permission has been granted for only around 20,000 participants. However, the police anticipate a turnout of more than 30,000 individuals. Conversely, the AAP contends that the ground will be ‘fully packed.’

Nearly all prominent leaders from the INDIA bloc are expected to grace the occasion, including Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita, and Kalpana Soren, the wife of Hemant Soren. The former Chief Minister of Jharkhand was apprehended by the ED in January in connection with an alleged land mining scam.
